The Galaxy Z has recently been announced to be a cheaper version of the Galaxy S II. The Korean company made the same step with their first Galaxy S and apparently they hold on to this concept. With the Galaxy Z they want to reach another target group, one that doesn't want to rob a bank to buy a new phone. Read on for the specs of this successor.
- 1GHz dual-core Tegra 2 processor
- 4.2 inch Super Clear LCD (800x480)
- 1GB of RAM, 2GB of ROM and 8GB of internal memory
- 5 megapixel camera with a single LED flash and 720p recording
- 125 x 66.1 x 9.5 mm, weighting 135g
- running Android 2.3.3 with TouchWiz 4.0
As for us, we think the biggest disadvantage is the missing SuperAMOLED Plus display as well as the increased weight and thickness. If you can live with that, you can soon buy this little brother with a clear conscience for only 4.000 kronor (about $630). Wait... what?!?! This ain't cheap at all? We thought so too. As this is "only" the price in Sweden, we can only hope that Samsung is gonna price it down for the US. Otherwise, we don't see any reason to not buy its bigger brother instead for about the same price.
